ABOUT US

It started with a personal mission: Andy George decided he wanted to see how complicated it would be to make a chicken sandwich, if he had to source all the ingredients and make the sandwich himself, completely from scratch…no grocery stores or buying items that come through our modern product distribution system. The process took six months for him to grow the wheat to make the bread, along with lettuce, tomato and cucumber. He travelled to the ocean to collect sea water which he boiled down for the salt. All in all, after tallying up how much time he spent on travel and paying himself minimum wage, the total cost of the sandwich was a shocking $1,500.

After a short cut of this original documentary project went viral in 2015, this concept evolved into an ongoing series on YouTube exploring the origin and process of creating of the items we use everyday.

In 2019, after reaching 1 million subscribers, the scope and mission of the series evolved and expanded even further. Now exploring the origins of technology: starting from the stone age and recreating all the major technological inventions that brought us to the world we live in today. How to Make Everything is on a quest to speed run all of human innovation over the past 200,000 years. How hard could that be for an average person to pull off?
